Officers
President and/or Co-Chairpersons:
- Interface with parents and division coordinators
- Interface with other leagues, umpire associations, the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District
- Attend and represent GDYSL at any softball meetings or any other meetings deemed necessary for the continued success of the league
- Chair all League meetings
- Communicate to Officers and/or division coordinators any revisions and/or additions to the League bylaws
- Establish committees if desired/needed
- Rule on questions not provided in the bylaws, until the next regularly scheduled meeting or special League meeting
- Make rule and protest interpretations in conjunction with the umpire representative and League Officers
- Check signing authority
Secretary
- Schedule League meetings and contact League Officers and team representatives with pertinent information
- Complete minutes of the GDYSL meetings and report those minutes to all Officers (1) week prior to the next League meeting
- Advise Officers and division coordinators of all upcoming events and meetings. Notification of meetings must be given seven (7) days in advance unless said meeting is an emergency meeting.
- Verify eligibility of voting members present at all meetings
- Make rule and protest interpretations in conjunction with the umpire representative and League Officers.
Treasurer
- Authorized to and responsible for receiving funds due to the League, depositing such funds in a charted bank, and paying rightful obligations of the League
- Submit an annual report as well as updates at each meeting, as to the financial condition of the League
- Upon change of Officers, arrange for an annual review of the books and/or accounts of the GDYSL
- Formulate and present a yearly budget for review and approval by a majority vote of Officers
- Be a member of the GDYSL fund raising committee
- Make rule and protest interpretations in conjunction with the umpire representative and League Officers
- Check signing authority
Board of Directors
- Vote on matters of policy, program content and budget.
- Vote on actions taken by the President or by a Co-Chairperson and any appointed committees that require ratification.
- The members will serve on Standing and Ad-Hoc Committees as requested by the President or by a Co-Chairperson and will vote on Officers and Membership to the Board of Directors.
